SEWER PROJECT
Thank you to all of the residents that have stopped by the office and verified the location of their septic tanks.  If you have not already done so, please stop by the office.  The location that is marked on the village maps will determine where the sewer line will be dropped at your property line.  The residents are responsible for running the sewer line from the property line to the desired location.  It is in your best interest to have the sewer line dropped as close to the final destination as possible.  This will cost you less in the long run.  The more pipe you have to run, the more it will cost.
Contractors should begin digging the week of March 15, 2010, in the north part of town where the sewer plant will be built.
A public hearing regarding annexation of several properties into the Village will be held on Thursday, April 1, 2010, at 7:00 p.m.  It will be held at the Clifton Community Building at 330 E. Fourth Avenue.

TRASH CONTAINERS
Please be aware when setting out trash cans for garbage pick-up day, the container wheels should be on the house side and the arrows should be toward the street.

BURN SITE CLOSED
The burn site is CLOSED and will remain closed permanently due to the sewer plant construction
.
VILLAGE WEBSITE
Please visit the village website at www.cliftonillinois.com.  If you are listed, please review the information listed for accuracy.  If you are not listed and wish to be, please contact the Village office.

VILLAGE PARKS / INFORMATION
Clifton Fun Days will be held on July 9 & 10.  The Village needs volunteers and organizations for this event.

Picnic tables will be out within the week due to the space required in the water shed for the new well #4.

The village pool is in need of improvements to the filtration system.  The Board of Trustees are currently looking into replacing the filters and quotes are currently running around $30,000.

CENSUS 2010
Starting this month, census forms will be delivered to Clifton residents along with the rest of the country.  When you receive yours, answer the 10 short questions and then mail the form back in the postage-paid envelope provided. If you don't mail the form back, you may receive a visit from a census taker, who will ask you the questions from the form.  It is important to get an accurate count of residents for our community.  In fact, the information the census collects helps to determine how more than $400 billion dollars of federal funding each year is spent on infrastructure and services.  A census worker will be at the Clifton Public Library from March 1st through April 19th, between the hours of 2:00 and 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.  They will be able to answer questions and assist with completion of census forms.
