Sewer Project
As we progress rather rapidly with sewer construction throughout the village it is becoming very important for residents to inform the village of the location of their septic tanks. If you are unable to stop by the office during normal hours (M – F; 8 – 11 am), please call the office at (815) 694-2273, or e-mail us at villageclifton@yahoo.com, to arrange an alternative method of informing the village of the location of your septic tank.
Answers to Frequently Asked Questions
1. A four-inch (4”) SDR 26 or better pipe with a clean out for your line will be required to hook-up to the sewer system from your home. Contractors approved by the village who are licensed to perform a hook-up to your home to date are as follows:

2. Septic tanks will need to be pumped and abandoned (filled with sand, caved in, or removed).
3. Lime green flags will indicate where the sewer drop will be located on your property.
Clifton Fun Days Meeting
The Clifton Fun Days are in need of your help! There are currently volunteers for the beer tent, garage sales, and the 5K run. We are in need of volunteers for all other areas. Please join us on Thursday, May 20, at 7:00 p.m. at the Clifton Community Building to lend your support. If you would like to help and are unable to attend the meeting, please call the village office at (815) 694-2273, to let us know that you would like to volunteer. The fun days will be held on July 9th and 10th.
Golf Cart Information
Stickers for the new fiscal year for those residents who own golf carts in the village were due on April 1, 2010. Stop by the office to purchase your new sticker as the old ones are now expired.
Yard Waste Bags
Yard waste trash bags and/or stickers will be available for purchase starting this week at the village office. Bags will be $2.25 and stickers are $2.10. The village no longer has a yard waste burn site; however, A&J Disposal will pick-up yard waste that has either been placed in bags that have been purchased from the village or you may use your own bags and purchase a sticker to put on the bags so that A&J will pick them up on the regularly scheduled trash day of Tuesday.
