Sewer Project
The construction crew will be installing sewer service lines on Hansen Circle Drive, Main Street and East Third Avenue. They will then be installing main line sewer on East Fifth Avenue and South Second Street. The crew will also be installing force main sewer line along Main Street and on Elliot Street. Tomorrow, Tuesday, April 5, 2011, is Election Day! Voting will take place at the Clifton Community Building between the hours of 6:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. The Village of Clifton will be voting for village president and five trustee positions among others as part of the election today. Jan O’Connell is running unopposed for the unexpired 2-year term for village president. Casey Hull, Gracia Turner and James Dundas are running for two trustee positions to serve an unexpired 2-year term. Mark Wegner, Jimmie Schoon, Robert Berns, and Randy Gigl are running for three trustee positions to serve a full 4-year term. Sewer Committee Meeting / Village Board Meeting
There is a Sewer Committee Meeting scheduled for tonight, Monday, April 4, 2011, at 7:00 p.m. The Village Board Meeting is scheduled for tomorrow, Tuesday, April 5, 2011, at 7:30 p.m. Connection Assistance Grant
Residents should have received by now a letter stating the qualifications and application opportunities to apply for a grant the village has been awarded to assist (up to $900) qualified low to moderate income households in the Village of Clifton hook-up to the new sewer system. If you have not received a letter or have any questions, please contact the village office at (815) 694-2273. Recycling
As you may have noticed, the recycling trailer was here on Saturday; however, you were not able to actually drop off your recycling. It seems that a different lock was attached to the trailer this week and staff did not have the key. River Valley Recycling apologizes for the mix-up and will be here again next month.
